Enameling
The term enameling refers to the process of applying “enamel” paint. Although they have started manufacturing water-based enamels, the enamels most commonly used are oil base. Enamels are designed to have excellent flow and leveling properties which means you get a very smooth finish. They also dry harder and are much more durable than ordinary wall paint. Enamels are most commonly used on trim pieces such as baseboard, casing, windows, crown molding, doors and cabinets.
When preparing bare wood or pre-primed trim, we sand, vacuum, and tack cloth between each and every coat to ensure a clean precise quality outcome. All imperfections are addressed and patched with Bondo, sanded smooth and primed before finish coats are applied. Enamels come in virtually every color available for regular paint. Enamel can be hand brushed or a spray application to provide a smooth finish.
